At this year’s PACK EXPO, Yupo representatives will be making it clear that YUPO is more than just paper—it’s all about the Technical Team and R&D support, sustainability advancements and label security innovations. Yupo, the largest manufacturer of synthetic papers in the Western Hemisphere, can help brand managers and product developers gain advantage over competitors in the marketplace.

As the world’s leading IML substrate provider, Yupo can help customers find the right synthetic paper solution no matter what the application method. Yupo Technical and R&D team members can help clients meet their needs throughout the entire packaging process – from packaging and label design and brand engineering to research and development for custom solutions.

“For years our IML substrates have been known for scratch and scuff resistance and longer shelf life,” said Bill Hewitt, marketing manager for Yupo. More recently, the industry began embracing synthetic paper for sustainability and waste-reduction qualities for all sorts of label applications, he added.

“Using YUPO can make possible brand engineering innovations that can in turn lead to new packaging solutions, such as bolder designs and different converting options,” Hewitt said. “Many customers don’t know that Yupo can help on the R & D side of the equation, too.”

Hewitt described how Yupo’s technical experts at its Virginia manufacturing facility can explain to clients every step of the design process. He also noted the company’s commitment to developing new YUPO grades to meet the needs of new applications.

This year, in addition to the team initiative, Yupo will introduce the YUPO Security Grade for tamper-evident labeling. Security labels are an important segment in the label market and are used in many ways to avoid counterfeit products and protect shipments of value added goods. YUPO Security Grade is an innovative product that gives flexibility to the converters to use different designs instead of the traditional “void” image.
