Yupo Announces Fifth Annual Designer's Choice Winner |
Yupo Corporation America, the largest manufacturer of synthetic paper in the Western Hemisphere, recently announced the winner of the 2007 Designer's Choice Wally Award.
After months of voting by designers and creative professionals, the firm of Five Visual Communication & Design has been chosen as the Designer’s Choice Winner. The Ohio design firm showed impeccable taste by specifying a new menu for Encore Bistro & Bar be printed on YUPO Synthetic Paper. Five Visual Communication & Design chose YUPO for its ability to make a bold statement as the complete antithesis of the restaurant’s former leather-bound menu.
“It allowed us to design a full-color menu with rich, vibrant colors on a paper that will last over a long period of time,” noted Rondi Tschopp, owner and creative director of Five Visual Communication & Design. “The colors are vibrant and printed true to our specifications, with a rich surface and a nice sheen that does not glare. The menus wipe clean and are not damaged by moisture or everyday use.”

As the 2007 Designer’s Choice Winner, Tschopp will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a customized Wally Award statue designed by illustrator Bill Mayer, and a $500 gift certificate toward PunchStock photography.
